You had a beautiful wedding, your closest friends and family enjoyed themselves, and now you're a happily married couple. Now what? Here are some of our favorite suggestions for you and your new husband or wife to do after the wedding. Hint: There are a few logistics you'll need to take care of, otherwise, focus on your honeymoon!
First and foremost, you're married now so take time to enjoy your new status. Have fun calling one another Mr. And Mrs., Wife and Husband . . . Tell the world that you're newlyweds. Display obnoxious amounts of PDA—you get the idea! You'll probably also want to enjoy some must needed alone time without all your helpful friends and family around. You'll never get this time back, so make sure you embrace every moment.
Take some time to relax. Whether you're going on a honeymoon right away or not, make sure to plan at least one day of pure rest before you head off to vacation or back to everyday life. Catch your breath, put on a movie, and enjoy each other’s company. You deserve it!
Set aside a few hours to open up all of those gorgeous wedding gifts you have been waiting for! Perhaps turn it into a fun date night, complete with wine, dinner, and a walk on the beach afterward. Don’t forget to keep track of your gifts and gifters, so that you can easily write thank you cards later on.
You may be taking off to your romantic getaway honeymoon, so be sure to pack your bags and get those last-minute details together!
Be sure to stop by your wedding venue to pick up your wedding decor or other items that you may have left behind. Pro-tip: assign this step to one of your trusted bridal party members so that you don't have to lift a finger!
That's right . . . it's time to manage all the fun, legal details! It'll involve making a few phone calls, a few trips to the DMV, social security office, and the bank, and so on. it's time to update that info! If you're a Wedgewood Weddings couple, our Bliss Benefits program makes this process extra easy!
You and your new spouse deserve a serious break after the big day, and hopefully some serious alone time! Now that you know what to expect after your wedding day, you can plan accordingly. Take a few days to relish in the splendor of your love, a few days to handle final wedding details, and a few days for pure rest and recharge. Enjoy!
