January is all about new beginnings, just as you and your partner are about to start your new lives together. Winter weddings are ideal for cozy and intimate vibes with things like fireplaces, hot cocoa bars, and snow-covered landscapes. Think indoor venues such as the beautiful grand hall ambiance at Ken Caryl Vista:
Colors of blue, silver, and white nod to a winter wonderland theme, while a palette of burgundy, rose gold, and forest green create a warmer, seasonal look.
February is always a good wedding month with Valentine’s Day–especially with Cupid’s holiday falling on a Saturday in 2026. If you’re a pink and rose enthusiast, you’ll want to jump on this date soon since it tends to be a popular one!
February is also somewhat of a transitional month, so you can choose to lean into winter feels with shades of white, blue, and silver. Or, you can celebrate the awakening of spring with vibrant reds, pinks, and purples. It’s your day, you should make it feel like you.
March always brings a month of celebration. From the first day of spring to St. Patrick's Day and Pi Day, there are plenty of theme ideas. Pay tribute to your Irish roots or serve an assortment of pies if you are a numbers person–your big day should reflect you!
We especially love March because there is a magical spring feeling in the air. Bright color palettes like pink, yellow, green, and purple resemble the changing landscape, and florals such as daffodils, irises, and roses are excellent springtime touches.
April stands for...alfresco! Just kidding, but it’s a beautiful time of year to host your guests outdoors. Nature is at its most beautiful for Earth Day. Think lush greenery and blooming florals surrounding the altar and aisle. We’ve planned a lot of weddings in April, and couples are always inspired by the beautiful and ethereal landscapes.
Embrace the views at venues like Hacienda de las Flores and add all of your favorite florals to your décor. It’s a popular month at Wedgewood Weddings, so be sure to book your date early!
May is another wonderful month for nature-inspired nuptials. Venues like Bel Vino Winery in Temecula, California make for remarkable outdoor views and an ideal space for a springtime wedding.
Every day is a beautiful day in May, but if you want to treat your guests to a full weekend celebration–Memorial Day is your go-to. With it being a long weekend, you’ll have plenty of time to spend with family and friends. Kick off the weekend with a rehearsal dinner on Friday (hint: ask us about rehearsal dinner options), tie the knot on Saturday, and celebrate with your wedding party over brunch on Sunday.
June is one of the most popular wedding months, and for good reason. You’re almost guaranteed blue skies, warm temps, and a beautiful sunset. Regions like Colorado, New Hampshire, and Northern California are sought-after destinations with their lush greenery and beautiful weather to accompany outdoor celebrations.
Pride Month is another reason to celebrate in June. We’ve planned many LGBTQ+ weddings and can’t wait to see more. Get inspired by Zach & Karthik's colorful wedding at Jefferson Street Mansion, Kayla & Robin's beautiful wedding at The Retreat, or read our helpful guide on planning your LGBTQ wedding.
Summer’s long, warm days are at their height in July, so there’s no better time to celebrate. We (and guests!) love it when couples incorporate nostalgic summer favorites like ice cream, popsicles, and watermelon into their day. Vibrant shades of pink, blue, and green create a gorgeous backdrop while your guests’ bright-colored outfits will lighten your wedding pictures.
August is the last full month of summer, and with long days, outdoor celebrations are highly recommended. There are also a bunch of fun food holidays–like National Hot Dog Day and National Smores Day–which you can incorporate as a surprise for guests.
A favorite of ours is National Dog Day, so if you have a pup, they should join in on the celebration too! Flower dogs are a big yes, and we definitely think they should wag their tail down the aisle for your special day.
Welcome to the first days of fall. With temps starting to cool and crisp days on the horizon, September is another popular month here at Wedgewood Weddings. There’s Labor Day to take advantage of for a long weekend celebration as well as National Chocolate Day for all our sweet tooths out there.
If you get to plan a September date and find that all weekend afternoons are taken, go ahead and plan a brunch wedding! We love the creativity that comes with an afternoon ceremony. Donut bars and mimosas are always welcome.
Bring all your fall vibes to life with pumpkin-spiced desserts and warm, seasonal hues. October is as good as it gets for fall lovers. In certain regions, you can still have your nuptials outdoors with whimsical florals and make your way indoors for a candlelit dinner. Granite Rose is an especially gorgeous fall venue with lush trees taking on all those beautiful hues.
October is also popular for Halloween enthusiasts–for obvious reasons. Lean into the holiday with guests arriving in their scariest and most creative costumes.
With Dia de Los Muertos at the start of the month and Thanksgiving near the end, November is all about coming together with friends and family. The chill in the air can create a cozy and intimate ambiance while choosing colors inspired by the fall foliage will add a touch of warmth to your celebration.
Additionally, Veterans Day occurs in the middle of the month, so celebrate your wedding and include a special tribute if you are a proud member of a military family.
As the year starts to close and the holidays ramp up, everyone is in a celebratory mood. This makes for an ideal time of year to have your wedding! Winter weddings can have a cozy, intimate vibe or feel super elevated with jewel tones and shimmery textures.
We also love incorporating holiday-inspired décor and live for a New Year’s Eve Wedding–there’s no better way to ring in the new year than to celebrate your love with the ones you love the most.
