Tucked away just north of Fort Collins, Colorado sits Tapestry House by Wedgewood Weddings, a charming and unique wedding venue that has hosted many incredible couples, including Greg & Kaila. While both the bride and groom are originally from Illinois, they love the Fort Collins area so much that they wanted to say 'I do' where they met and fell in love. After a family member recommended Wedgewood Weddings, they discovered Tapestry House only a great fit and just 10 minutes from their doorstep. We sat down to discuss their experience and hear more about their wedding.
The process of finding a wedding venue varied for Kaila and Greg. They checked out another local property, Boulder Creek by Wedgewood Weddings, as well as a few other properties around the area, and just didn't have the right feeling about any of them. Not because they weren't beautiful and amazing, but they just didn't fit... until they came for their tour at Tapestry House. Once they explored and saw all that this gorgeous garden venue had to offer, they knew that "that was the spot."
From that point, Greg and Kaila enjoyed their engagement while working with the onsite Event Experts to decide on vendors, colors, and more for their summer wedding. Greg said that after they started planning their wedding that "there was nothing that was going to be forgotten. Like if there was anything that we forgot about or didn't plan... the Wedgewood Weddings team would bring it up and help." Along with their wedding coordinator, Tara, they were given their own Wedding Planner where they could keep track of all the details that they needed to prepare for their wedding. This detailed book is a staple that all Wedgewood Weddings couples are given after booking their venue.
Cornflower blue, navy, and ivory made up their wedding colors and were complimented by the various hues of green that surround Tapestry House. These colors complimented their flower arrangements of white anemones, eucalyptus, white roses, and succulents for a natural and elegant feel. Groomsmen were decked out in sleek navy blue suits and bridesmaids donned long elegant cornflower blue dresses. These details were incorporated in everything from the ceremony all the way over to the reception. Greg and Kaila topped their décor off with the addition of wine bottle centerpieces and beer growlers that included the seating charts for each table. Getting married in the Napa Valley of Beer, this was a perfect addition to their Fort Collins based wedding.
The pleasant summer day rewarded Greg and Kaila's ceremony with a wonderful breeze and the pretty clouds that turned into a gorgeous sunset during their cocktail hour photos. Greg and Kaila planned for 130 guests to witness their vows at the gazebo ceremony area. They said that some of their friends and family felt that was a big wedding, but for them, it was just right. Between the expanse of the reception tent for dinner service, the indoor pavilion for dancing and celebration, and the garden and open space around the house, they had plenty of room to celebrate with their wedding party indoors and out.
While Greg and Kaila took a moment away with their photography team to capture amazing photos during cocktail hour, their guests were welcome to enjoy stationed hors d'oeuvres of rainbow vegetable platters with pesto hummus and a variety of domestic and imported cheese with wafers. Once the newlyweds made their way to the reception, they feasted with a two-entree buffet of Rosemary Garlic Herb Chicken, Oven Roasted Salmon with Tarragon Butter Sauce, Herb Roasted Red Potatoes, and Seasonal Vegetables. They also included a carving station of Roast Beef Au Jus with Creamed Horseradish. Yum!
From start to finish, Greg and Kaila had the team at Wedgewood Weddings by their side to ensure they were able to fully enjoy their wedding and everything else was taken care of. This was an especially important element that Greg and Kaila wanted for their wedding day. Kaila said that they "had been to a family wedding the year prior and there was a lot of stress to set up, take down, get food... things like that." Once their family arrived on the day itself, they kept asking if they needed help preparing anything for the wedding and after realizing the team at Tapestry House had everything covered, they were able to relax and enjoy the wedding right along with Kaila and Greg. That was exactly what the couple wanted most; ensuring their family and friends could celebrate their wedding right along with them.
Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Larson! We were so happy to be a part of your special day and are thrilled to hear that you and all of your guests had an amazing experience with Wedgewood Weddings.
