Juliet + Andrew: Summer Wedding At University Club

Juliet and Andrew’s beautiful summer wedding at University Club was filled with sunny skies, twinkle lights, and gorgeous florals! The couple shared why they felt University Club was the perfect backdrop:

The couple chose to do a first look, which allowed for tons of gorgeous photo ops around the UCI campus. Juliet shared: 

An important vendor tip is to hire a great photographer. Ours, Gretchen Dunn, was incredible!

After the couple’s first look, they shared a behind-the-scenes story: 

We hid in the get-ready room to practice our first dance. We realized during the practice that my dress was too fluffy for one of the spins, so we quickly had to improvise! It was still perfect but very funny.

During the ceremony, the bridesmaids stunned in forest green gowns that complemented the neutral feel perfectly. The beautiful floral arrangements of white roses and greenery from Olivia’s Mum Floral Design tied the whole look together. Juliet and Andrew exchanged vows in front of the lush lawn and beautiful gazebo. There was one person who was a bit nervous during the ceremony, and it wasn’t the bride or groom! The couple laughed:

A funny plot twist on our wedding was that our precious ring bearer got cold feet! Luckily, our beautiful flower girl saved the day and delivered both flowers and rings.

After the ceremony, the festivities continued with cocktail hour. The couple shared:

One way we got to infuse our personalities was by doing a signature cocktail. For me, I did a spicy margarita and his was a Moscow mule! 

In addition to the beautiful summer weather and stunning grounds, guests enjoyed the delicious appetizers included in the Classic package: a rainbow vegetable platter with pesto hummus and a variety of domestic and imported cheese with wafers. 

Juliet remarked that the University Club left their guests in awe, yet it was the genuine love shared by the couples that truly shone throughout the event.

Our guests kept telling us: 

They said they could truly feel the love between my husband and me!

Following the cocktail hour, guests enjoyed the beautiful grand hall for the reception. The couple paired standard white linens with forest green napkins for an elegant look. In the center of the tables were black lanterns and votives. As the sun faded, the romantic bistro lighting behind the sweetheart table created a beautiful and romantic ambiance. 

Guests enjoyed their delicious buffet meal, featuring Panko Parmesan Crusted Chicken with Sherry Cream and Carved Roast Beef Au Jus with Creamed Horseradish with Herb Roasted Red Potatoes. In fact, they shared that if they could relive one moment from their big day, it would be: 

Our first meal together as a married couple. We did a sweetheart table, which we worried would feel very exposed, but it felt very private and intimate.

After dinner, the moment everyone had been waiting for arrived - the couple cutting into their cake from Plumeria Cake Studio, a tasty cake with Oreo and chocolate.

To kick off the reception, the newlyweds made a grand entrance into the reception space, enhanced by the grand sparkler moment, always an incredible photo op and a favorite among the guests.

The night continued with an abundance of dancing, creating an energetic atmosphere that kept everyone on their feet. The photo booth, always popular among guests, added an extra fun touch.

As a couple, try to stick together the entire night! It makes the night go slower and feels so much more special.
