Get ready to discover the journey and passion behind the person who might just be orchestrating your special day! Meet Katie of Team Sacramento!
I have been with Wedgewood Weddings since 2021 and have had the opportunity to move around and help out most of the Sacramento region! I started my experience as a Catering Manager at Union Brick in Roseville and quickly grew to love the company, so when asked to help a sister property, I jumped at the opportunity and moved to help our Placerville location Sequoia Mansion in 2022. The following year, I was ready to learn and grow, so I accepted the Manager in Training position at Union Brick and went back to my home property and took over as their General Manager shortly after. A little over a year into my General Manager position, I realized I missed working hands-on with our couples, so I took a side step in my career and joined the Sterling Hotel team in Downtown Sacramento!
Not all weddings are one size fits all. I love it when a couple comes to their first meeting with lots of questions and customizable items! Having been in the industry for the past six years, I find that when my couples customize their big day, I fangirl over the small details and slowly start dreaming of my own big day.
It sounds funny, but I wish I had known to wear more comfortable shoes! I loved looking professional and wearing heels in the sales office, but when coordinating, it is so important to be comfortable. You are always running around, and personally, my feet always kill me at the end of the night, so comfort and safety come first in my book!
Working alongside some of the best coworkers! When you work long hours and work as hard as we do, it is nice to have someone you can not only trust but also laugh with when things get tough. I have made life long friends in this job who I now count as family. Not only do I have coworkers in Sacramento, but I have had the chance to work alongside those who live all throughout the United States! Wedgewood Weddings makes it very easy to stay in contact with other locations, and I love seeing them all grow and succeed!
I went to college with no idea what I wanted to do! While I took my general education classes, I leaned towards teaching until I took my first Recreation class at CSU Chico! During my time in Chico, I had the opportunity to meet with multiple Wedding Coordinators, and that led me to shoot for the stars. I started by working for a small family-run venue and then found my way to Wedgewood Weddings after the pandemic, and I haven’t looked back since!
I have loved Taylor Swift from the beginning, I got the chance to go to the 1989 concert and the Era’s tour with my Mom, Aunt, and sister! We even named our Corgi Benson because Taylor has a cat named Olivia, after Olivia Benson from Law & Order SVU!
On my days off, I love to spend time with loved ones or at home snuggling my dog. When we have days off together, we love being in the outdoors and staying active!
From career twists to wedding insights, Katie's journey exemplifies the passion driving Wedgewood Weddings. We're grateful to Katie for sharing her experiences and reminding us that behind every great celebration is a team that truly loves what they do. Thank you, Katie, for giving us this glimpse into your world. Remember, every great wedding starts with passionate people who love what they do!
