With National Breast Cancer Awareness Month coming to an end, Wedgewood Weddings & Banquet Center, the largest full-service wedding and banquet chain in the nation, announces a new program to help support breast cancer research year-round.
Wedgewood Weddings’ breast cancer research fundraising program is to kick off on Saturday, November 1, 2014, with a contribution of $10k to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF), a nonprofit organization committed to achieving prevention and a cure for breast cancer. Wedgewood Weddings hosts more than 3,000 weddings per year and plans to donate up to $15k to breast cancer research annually with this initiative.
Wedgewood Weddings is taking this program one step further and sponsoring each of their employees who chooses to participate in the annual breast cancer awareness walks. Wedgewood Weddings will also match employee contributions to breast cancer charities up to $100.
“It’s a disease that impacts millions across the United States and this is a cause that is extremely important to our couples and employees,” said Wedgewood Weddings president, Bill Zaruka. “We are proud to make this commitment to breast cancer research and to be a force in finding a cure.”
Wedgewood Weddings’ breast cancer research fundraising program is only part of the company’s larger philanthropic efforts. Founding the “Married to Our Community” initiative in early 2014, Wedgewood Weddings’ venues, now totaling nearly 30 locations throughout California, Las Vegas, Phoenix, and Boulder contribute both monetary and in-kind donations to local and regional charities each year.
